Add/Remove Internet Explorer icon to/from Desktop |

To add or remove the Internet Explorer icon from the Desktop, right click on the Desktop and click on Properties. Click on the Desktop tab, and click on the Customise Desktop button. Select/Deselect the Internet Explorer tickbox depending on whether you want the Internet Explorer icon shown or hidden on the Desktop.

Automatically clear the Temporary Internet Files |

To automatically clear the Temporary Internet Files when Internet Explorer is closed go to Tools > Internet Options > Advanced, scroll down to near the bottom and check Empty Temporary Internet
Files folder when browser is closed.

CTRL + I gives you a favourites toolbar which gives quick links to the web pages you want. Pressing CTRL + I again will then turn this off.

If you hold down the shift key while clicking a link in Internet Explorer, the link you clicked on will open in a new window. This allows you to continue viewing the original page without being navigated away from it.
